Meet the Team

Anne-Marie L. Bowen

Attorney

  • Anne-Marie L. Bowen graduated with honors from the Florida State University College of Law earning her Juris Doctor degree. She also graduated from the FSU College of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. She was a litigation attorney at a small law firm in Orlando and at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) working in the areas of Creditor's Rights and Bankruptcy and Litigation.

    Attorney Bowen opened her own law firm more than 20 years ago and has concentrated her practice in helping people in financial distress ever since. She finds that her background in representing banks and creditors helps her in now representing people with financial problems. She knows what the other side is looking for.

    Attorney Bowen listens to her clients and understands their problems. She tries to find alternatives to filing bankruptcy, in case it is not necessary or advisable. Ms. Bowen offers personal attention to each client, and thoroughly explains all options available.

    Having practiced Bankruptcy Law for more than 20 years, Anne-Marie Bowen is well known in the Bankruptcy Bar. She served as the President and on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association. She has also served as Chairman of the Bankruptcy Committee of the Orange County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. She is also a member of The Florida Bar, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (both the General Bar and the Trial Bar), the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Christian Legal Society, and she currently serves as the President and a Board Member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Central Florida, Inc.

    Attorney Bowen is married to her college sweetheart having met in the FSU Marching Chiefs Band. They have one son who followed in his Mom’s footsteps and is a young lawyer. He gave them a beautiful daughter when he married his bride a few years ago, and they have a precious fur baby!

Julie Detzel

Paralegal

  • Julie recently joined the firm and is excited to be part of the Team. She has more than 4 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal at various firms in Orlando. She loves helping people and is dedicated to serving others. She enjoys spending time with her husband and beautiful children at home, school, and church. She graduated from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies & Admin. in 2015, after having graduated from Seminole State College with Associate’s Degrees in Legal Studies, as well as Business Studies.

 

Kelly Martin

Paralegal

  • Kelly hails from North Carolina and is our Paralegal PRN. She enjoys helping our clients as needed and is great with people, problem solving, and technology. Kelly is in her final year at University of Florida, having graduated from Valencia College with two degrees in Paralegal Studies. She is also a professional photographer.

 

Lisa Roberts

Remote Paralegal

  • Lisa serves as the firms Remote Paralegal. She inputs into our Bankruptcy software all Ch. 7, Ch. 13, and Ch. 11 cases for filing with the Court, as well as all Probate pleadings. She has been a Paralegal working in the Bankruptcy field for 16 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family including 7 children, 19 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild with another on the way. Lisa enjoys crafting, including sewing, crocheting, and Cricut crafts.

 

Erin Smith

Legal Assistant

  • Erin is starting her fourth year at the law firm. She graduated from University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Psychology and English. Erin was a member of the Color Guard in the Gator Marching Band and marched in Ireland and in Normandy, France with the band. She will continue her education in the Fall working on a master's degree in Psychology.
